Editing our Masterpiece: Week One

During this week, Scott and I worked to get most of our editing done. We chose one of the default fonts that are in Premiere Pro because we simply liked it. We used 3 titles for the intro "credits" scene. One for our production company, another for Scott and I, and one for the actual movie title. As of right now, no video effects have been used. We have yet to decide how much more we want to implement. Video transitions are cuts for right now as they are no significant time jumps. Everything is very straight forward chronologically. We plan on implementing audio effects in the coming week for the clock. We want to really emphasize the importance of time in the movie.

A major issue we found while editing was slicing up scenes properly to fit with the clock motif. For example, our last scene has the time freeze but we wanted the clock to stop in the middle of the scene. So we had to cut the scene and place a clock scene which was then stopped at a frame to show the time freeze. After which, we placed the other half of the scene back. Another issue was the videos being cut off or too far zoomed in. This was fixed by editing each individual video to not be as far zoomed in.

Scott and I spent about 2-3 class periods worth of editing. I have previous experience with editing videos and we had planned how we wanted the video, that is why it didn't take much time to finish for the week. Scott and I were the only ones involved in the editing with some assistance from our teacher. If we need additional filming, it would be of the clock. We actually had too much footage, this gives us legroom to work with the video if we wish to change it.
