Final Cut & Discussion on Edits

In this final cut, Scott and I did not change much from the original video. We were quite content with the rough draft as it had much of what we desired. Similarly, in order to keep continuity between edits, we would have to only edit the scenes that were outside of the classroom. We were left with little options. Our major edit was the final scene. In the rough draft, one of the background characters was moving during the time freeze. This completely destroys the ambiance that is trying to be achieved. In order to fix this, we zoomed in on Scott a little more and shifted the frames to the right. Many of the criticisms that we had on the video involved this scene. Other criticisms were confused about the time freeze and even called it a slow down. Hopefully, this change can make it apparent that it is a freeze and not a slow down. Besides this change, we edited the beginning of the time freeze to last a little less as and made several of the cuts cleaner by adjusting the position.

We received criticism and confusion on the direction of the story. Many people could not understand what genre was being portrayed. The video does not show the genre of superhero comedy explicitly, but there is the comedy aspect. There are also aspects to the superhero genre through the time freeze and Scott not being affected. The title of the film also alludes to this. Since the video is only two minutes long it is difficult to show everything we wanted to show, we had to cut a large portion of our filmed content. If the video were to be continued, the superhero aspect would be much more evident.
